| Most jazz
fans in Canada need no introduction to Charles R. "Bucky"
Adams. The product of one of the East Coast's most musical
families, Bucky has been entertaining since 1947.
Encouraged by the resurgence of
interest in jazz and blues in North America, Bucky put his heart
and soul into the production of this CD, and each melody bears his
signature. The songs (with the exception of Deep Purple)
are either his own compositions, or were written in collaboration
with Woody Woods. If your taste leans towards easy
listening, you'll appreciate I Dream of You, Back Home and Remember
the Good Days; the selection In A Lovin' Way highlights
Bucky's warm singing style; Africville Shuffle has a nice,
bluesy swing; Harbour View is reminiscent of the busy
Halifax waterfront on an August day, and Bucky's Back is a
little taste of funk. Deep Purple, performed only
with Bucky's sax and Woody's piano, is simply elegant.
Whatever your tastes, each cut is "music for the soul".

you get when you mix the soulful jazz of Bucky Adam, the rich vocals of
Corey Adams and the musical versatility of the Hungarian born Botos
Brothers? A musical experience so incredibly out-of-this-world it takes you
on a journey you never want to end. Bucky Adams and the Botos Brothers

Under
the breathtaking exuberance of Bucky’s dynamic horn the album brings
together a collection of very personal musical ideas expressed through a
basic “jazz” context. The group, “Basin Street”, formed in the summer of
’75, performed at the “Privateers Warehouse”, a restored historic property
on the Halifax waterfront. The selections involve a representative blend of
styles and visions that go beyond the traditional concepts of jazz and yet
all the while, maintain equilibrium with the roots.
